As you guys know, I'm always looking for a good deal. I while back I read about a site called Birchbox. Now, it isn't a free service, but you pay $10 a month and every month they send you a box with 4 or 5 samples. The box you get is different every month and you can cancel any time you want. These aren't just any samples were talking about here. Some of the brands Birchbox works with include Bvlgari, Bare Minerals, Benefit, Marc Jacobs, NARS, Stila and tons more!
Birchbox also has an awesome points program. You get a point for every dollar you spend and you also get points for taking feedback surveys and referring your friends. If you fall in love with any of the samples you get you can use your points toward a purchase of the full sized product. 100 points equals $10. You get 10 points for each feedback survey you do, so once you get your first box you can do feedback surveys on each sample and get 40 or 50 points! So within about 2 months you could already have made enough points to get a $10 discount on a full sized product. I think that is pretty awesome!
So anywhere, here is my very first Birchbox!
My Birchbox included:
A sample of Mon Jasmine Noir by Bvlgari.
A Stila eye shadow in Pigalle.
A small bar of Pomegranate soap from Archipelago.
A blank card and envelope from Tiny Prints and a coupon code for one free Tiny Prints greeting card.
The eyeshadow from Stila is beautiful. It's a medium brown shade, which is great for doing smokey eyes.
I don't usually like very many fragrances. I think most of them, especially designer perfumes, just have a weird overwhelming smell to them. But I sprayed a little bit of Mon Jasmin Noir on my wrist and hours later I catch myself thinking "what is that great smell?" and then I remember it's that perfume! lol It is noticeable (even hours later), but not in an annoying or overwhelming way. It's actually the perfect combination of subtle and noticeable. I am surprised that I like it as much as I do.
I'm not real big on soap bars. When I wash my hands I generally use liquid soap, but the pomegranate soap smells great and it is tiny and adorable. I doubt I'll use it much, but if you are the kind of person that likes to have fancy little soaps on display for guests then you'd love this.
The AHAVA hand cream smells great and feels great on dry hands. Most lotions are really greasy and they don't really moisturize your hands very well. The grease just kind of sits on top of your skin. This stuff isn't greasy at all though, and my hands felt much better after using it.
The card from Tiny Prints is adorable. :)
So I have to say I'm pretty pleased with my decision to sign up for Birchbox. If you're the type of woman that likes to try out new make up, fragrances, lotions, etc. all the time, then you should consider signing up for Birchbox. At just $10 a month you save money and you get a nice little surprise every month!
